Hi parents!

Do you have this nagging feeling that your kids are spending too much time on their screens, but you don’t even know where to start? Do you worry about what they are being exposed to online? Do you think their school work is suffering because of screens?

I am so excited about this series because I think this is a really hot topic right now. People, doctors included, are encouraging parents to be more intentional around screen time, but I think we often do not hear how to do it. So we are stuck knowing we should without any tools.

Drum roll please… that’s where this series comes in! I am giving you five days of jam packed tips and tangible steps you can take to address your kids screen time. Make sure you tune into all five days and do the accompanying worksheets so that you can start making real changes in your home.

Good luck,

Kayla

Hello,

Today we are talking about the why and the how of incentive spirometers. An incentive spirometer is a handheld device to help people take deep breaths. It is indicated for a variety of specific health conditions. So this episode is to help people who have been told to use an incentive spirometer and just need either a little help or a lot of motivation. It can be overwhelming and tiring to do something every hour when you are not feeling well. So, jump in today’s episode to hear why I think it can be so important to your healing and for a strategy to get it done.

Best,

Kayla

Hi folks,

Today we talk about three different tools that can help you remember to take your medications. Life becomes busy and the human mind is fickle. It is completely normal to forget to take your medications. I would actually argue if you don’t set up a system to support yourself I would EXPECT you to forget. So I want to help you set yourself up for success, so that you can take your medications as prescribed and hopefully become healthier as a result.

Cheers,

Kayla

Hi folks,

So today we are taking a deep dive into how to keep track of your daily weights to manage your heart failure. Taking accurate daily weights that you can report to your physician is extremely important because they often impact how your doctor wants to dose your medication.

In this episode we will briefly talk about why heart failure impacts your weight and why we as providers care so much about little changes. Then we will talk about how you can get the most accurate weights at home, because little variations do make a  big difference! We go into how to set up your scale station and then what to do every day to get consistent information.

If you follow all these tips, your doctor will love you for getting all the information they need to take care of you well.

Best,

Kayla

Hi parents,

Inside today’s episode we are talking all about introducing cow’s milk into your little’s diet. There are a lot of the specifics on when to do the transition, what kind of milk to use, and how much milk to give, and I know you already have a lot on your plate. However, I am passionate about this being an important topic for your child’s health and so I believe this episode is worth a listen.

Best,
Kayla
